Welcome
Welcome to Oak Tree Day Nursery
Oak Tree Day Nursery is registered with Ofsted Early Years for the full day care of 60 children aged between 3 months and 5 years. It occupies a large detached Victorian house in a residential road within easy reach of Catford Bridge Station and local bus routes. We offer a provision with the hightest standard of care and a highly trained and friendly staff team. We are a unique, warm, happy and secure day Nursery where all children feel valued and develop into independent, confident individuals.
The Nursery has five individual rooms. Each room has been carefully designed to ensure best possible layout to meet specific Early Learning Goals and help your child reach his/her full potential by allowing greater independence, boosting self-confidence and nurturing intellectual development by cultivating their own natural desire to learn.
We operate the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (EYFS) which is the stage of children’s development from birth to the end of their first (reception) year at school. It sets out how children are kept safe and well cared for and how children achieve the most they can in their earliest years of life. To support this, we offer a range of additional weekly activities from outside professionals such as Spanish, Dance & Drama, Swimming and Multi-sport sessions at no extra cost as well as other exciting activities such as cookery, local trips and even an annual trip to the seaside.
We are inspired by the ‘going green’ concept. We believe that teaching our children about their environment will promote a massive impact on their awareness, decisions and lifestyles as they get older, which can help protect the environment and sustain its natural resources for current and future generations.
We are also inspired by the Forest School approach that stimulates children through positive outdoor experiences. We believe that there is magnificent opportunity for children to explore the outdoor environment, develop a connection with nature and improve a whole range of skills from personal, social and emotional, to physical development and communication.
We provide a monthly newsletter that keeps Parents informed of any developments and activities within the Nursery and Bi-annual Parents Evenings are held for Parents to meet key workers and discuss their children’s progress.
We are open for 51 weeks of the year, 5 days a week, 10 hours a day; only closing on public/bank holidays, a Christmas week and 3 staff training days per year.
